AT THIS TIME, ALL NYS PRE-LICENSING COURSES ARE BEING CONDUCTED ON-LINE (VIRTUALLY) OVER THE INTERNET VIA THE ZOOM PLATFORM.
(*On the Monday prior to your registered class, an email will be sent to the email address on file in our system regarding the Zoom information for Fridays' class. If you have not found the email in your inbox, please check your "Dump/Junk Box" for this. If not found, please call the office (518-761-8216) to have a copy forwarded to you. This email is very important, as you need to "reply back" that it has been received.

Upon successful completion of the NYS 5 Hour Pre-Licensing course, students will be issued an MV-278 certificate in the mail. In order to sign up for a road test, students will need to present this certificate to the DMV. The MV-278 certificate expires one year from the date of the course. (Replacement certificates can be issued upon receipt of a money order in the amount of $25 made out to Lynn Fuchs, 7 West Valley Stream Blvd, Valley Stream, NY, 11580. Please include a copy of the student’s permit, along with their full name, current address, phone number and the date of their 5 hour course completion. The Pre-Licensing Course is mandated by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and is a pre-requisite to obtaining your road test appointment. Basic driving rules and safety issues will be addressed. Instruction is under the direction of Lynn Fuchs, former president of the NYS Driving School Association and a multi-award winner. Lynn Fuchs has been well-respected in her field as a traffic safety and driving education specialist for over 36 years and is founder and president of A Woman’s Way Driving School (7 West Valley Stream Boulevard, Valley Stream, NY 11580 and 498 Glen St., Glens Falls, NY 12801).
Please arrive 15 minutes early; You MUST bring your valid NYS Photo Learner’s Permit to class; Temporary (Paper) Permits are no longer allowed as valid documentation.This 5-Hour Pre-Licensing Course is mandated by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and is a pre-requisite to obtaining your road test appointment. With Advance Registration, you are GUARANTEED a seat in the class! THIS IS A NON-REFUNDABLE COURSE/PROGRAM FEE.
Please log-on 15 minutes early (@ 3:45 pm). The class starts promptly at 4:00 p.m. - No Entry after that time.

- **Most of this information is for in-classroom instruction, we are currently virtual via Zoom....need to leave in place to not lose information for the future.
- You MUST bring your valid NYS Photo Learner’s Permit to class (place in designated container)
- Note: Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill-out course paperwork. You are welcome to bring a snack and a drink.
- NO WALK-INS PERMITTED.
- Anyone interested in participating MUST pre-register and pay program fee in advance on-line or at the Department Office.

- IF the class you want is FULL and you are placed on a WAIT LIST (no fee is charged), please complete the registration process all the way thru the payment portion; that is how you will be placed on the WAIT LIST. Also, it is best to sign up for the next dated class, as they will FILL UP WELL BEFORE you would expect and you want to make sure you have a seat in the class. If an opening should occur and you are called, we can transfer the money to the Wait Listed class you were called about.......if you are not clear with this information, give the department a call for further explanation.
