INTRODUCING: THE SCIENCE CHEF!
 
Kids know and love her from our Mad Science workshops and camps: Margaret Liberti is introducing an ALL NEW service, which combines a love of cooking with the amazing elements of science!
 
Margaret grew up in the kitchen with her Papa (dad), and in his pizzeria!  Food has always been her passion, and as she went through school, science became an additional passion. She went to college to become a biology/chemistry teacher, and taught at a local SUNY school for a decade.  Margaret has authored a study guide for a publisher, as well as her own lab manual for a non-majors biology course. She was recognized by SUNY with a Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in teaching.  Teaching science has always been her professional passion, while cooking has been her personal passion.  Out of a desire to combine these two passions - The Science Chef was born!

LAVA FORMATION & VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS + ROCKETS!
  • How is lava formed?
  • What is the importance of lava in volcanos, and why do rocks play such an important part?
  • Each child will create their own lemon “volcano” and finish with a tasty lava creation: making their own lava cakes!
  • We will also learn the basic structure of a rocket and how to launch one!
  • We will launch a rocket on-site, weather and space permitting.
  • Each child will customize their own “rocket pop” – a cake push pop!

GLOWING SCIENCE
  • Learn about fluorescence and what glows.
  • Watch as three chemicals can become their own “chemical flashlight.”
  • Be mystified when you create your own Jello shapes that fluoresce under a black light!

Program Information
Please have your child bring a drink and a nut-free snack.
