Stacey Koloski is a teacher at Queensbury Elementary School with 23 years of K-3 teaching experience.
In the fall, Stacey will be teaching UPK at QES.
She designed these activities to give preschool-aged children an opportunity to develop their cooperative learning and social skills through play and fun.

COOKS, BOOKS AND CRAFTS
  • This activity combines children’s love of story time and crafts with their eagerness to get in the kitchen!
  • We will read stories and create crafts that will build fine motor skills.
  • Once hands are washed, children will do all of the chopping, mixing and creating of scrumptious snacks that relate to our books.
  • We’ll sit together to enjoy our creation with fun conversation!
  • Children must be completely bathroom independent to attend this drop-off program.

NATURE STEM
  • This drop-off program gets kids outside to explore all that nature has to offer.
  • We will make leaf identifiers and after reading the book Owl Babies, we’ll go on a nature walk to discover what leaves live in our woods.
  • We will collect items for our birds nest STEM challenge that gets kids thinking creatively and applying imagination to science.
  • Our scientists will enjoy a nature-themed snack to round out our morning of exploration.
  • Children must be completely bathroom independent to attend this program.

DINOSAUR DAY
  • We’ll have a roaring good time exploring everything dinosaur!
  • After “hatching” baby dinosaurs using baking soda and vinegar we will play dino games and create our own dinosaur fossils!
  • We will read “If You Happen to Have a Dinosaur” and enjoy a dino-themed snack together.
  • Children must be completely bathroom independent to attend this drop off program.

RAINBOWS AND SUNSHINE
  • Let’s get outdoors and play!
  • We will start our morning playing cooperative games outside to build gross motor and social skills then we’ll take the fun indoors for rainbow science, gardening and crafts.
  • We’ll round out our morning with a rainbow-themed snack and the book “Planting a Rainbow.”
  • Children must be completely bathroom independent to attend this drop off program.
