Heather Lapham
"Hello! I taught high school chemistry for 24 years, and later worked for the New York State Police in Forensics, before recently retiring. I am the mom of two amazing young men and wife to a great guy I’ve been lucky enough to call my best friend for more than 30 years! I found my way to yoga through a friend ten years ago. I felt wonderful after my first class, and with regular practice noticed my joints hurt less and my body began to change for the first time in over a decade! I became stronger and leaner and then the most incredible thing…I noticed increasing mental strength and calm, not just during class but off the mat as well. I was hooked! I’d be honored if you’d join me on the mat! No matter where my yoga training and practice take me, I will always be a student first."
Classes:
Wednesday - Yin Yoga

Clare Rainwater
"Hello!! My name is Clare Elizabeth. (Ms Clare for my yogis) I am a certified yoga instructor. So excited to be teaming up with Queensbury Parks & Recreation. Recently retired after thirty four years in elementary education, I am delighted to continue my passion of teaching and sharing yoga goodness. People have a misconception about yoga, it is more than funky poses. Yoga has a healing power. Each visit to the mat is an opportunity to quiet the mind. Learning stillness helps develop self control and self regulation. Through yoga, participants become more capable in handling conflict both on and off the mat. My goal is always to create a nurturing, safe environment for all. Gathering together in a loving space, tailored to the individual. Assisting my students as they challenge themselves, finding their new levels of possibilities- mind, body & spirit.

Class Descriptions
Awaken & Flow Yoga
This is a vinyasa flow class for all levels. Lets start our day with 60 minutes of conscious movement and breathwork. We will build some heat as we stretch, strengthen and create space in our bodies. Come use this time on your mat to cultivate and healthy flow of energy to start your day.

Chair yoga is a modified form of yoga where movements are performed from a chair, or standing and is designed to make yoga accessible to individuals who may have limitations in performing floor-based yoga poses.

Gentle Yoga
This class will take a gentle approach to hatha and vinyasa movements to emphasizes strength, stability, and mindful movements. Modifications will be offered to make this class accessible to all participants.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga
This class will focus on consciously moving the body with the breath and will use basic yoga poses in a gentle to moderate flow class that you can build upon as you advance your personal practice.

Yin Yoga
This practice is a very passive approach to Yoga where you perform the majority of the poses seated on the floor or lying down. The class features stretching, especially the connective tissue around the joints. The sequences of postures are meant to stimulate the channels of the subtle body known as meridians in Chinese medicine.
