The department will offer the NYS Boating Course, required for anyone 10-17 years of age wishing to operate a powerboat or over 14 years old to operate a personal watercraft on any body of water within the State.If you are from out of state, New York recognizes the boating safety certificate issued by your home state.Who needs a boating safety certificate?Under the NYS law known as Brianna’s Law, all motor boat operators regardless of age will need a boating safety certificate beginning in 2025.

This class is designed to offer safety techniques and information to those who may be interested in babysitting. Participants will learn an assortment of safety techniques from various community agencies, including personnel from local Police, Fire, and EMS departments; participants will also receive instruction in basic first aid. The program is facilitated by the Queensbury Fire Marshal’s Office and the Parks & Recreation Department. Parent participation is strongly encouraged.
