Swim Lessons Term 1 at QES ~ Sept-Oct - Wait List Level 1 Scroll down the screen to see all available swim levelsThe Queensbury Parks & Recreation Department offers swim lessons year round. Indoor lessons are conducted at the Queensbury Elementary School pool from September to April and summer outdoor swim lessons are held at Gurney Lane Recreation Area late June to mid-August. Youth (ages 3-16) swim lessons are taught the American Red Cross – Learn to Swim Levels 1-6 progressions and are taught by department-trained swim lesson instructors and swim aides, overseen by a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. Class swim lesson participant to instructor ratios meet or exceed American Red Cross recommendations and are overseen by an on-site lifeguard. In addition to youth swim lessons, the department offers Infant/Parent (6 mo.-18 mo.) & Toddler/Parent (19 mo.-36 mo.) classes. Indoor lessons are conducted at the Queensbury Elementary School pool from September to April and summer outdoor swim lessons are held at Gurney Lane Recreation Area late June to mid-August. Youth (ages 3-16) swim lessons are taught the American Red Cross – Learn to Swim Levels 1-6 progressions and are taught by department-trained swim lesson instructors and swim aides, overseen by a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. Class swim lesson participant to instructor ratios meet or exceed American Red Cross recommendations and are overseen by an on-site lifeguard. In addition to youth swim lessons, the department offers Infant/Parent (6 mo.-18 mo.) & Toddler/Parent (19 mo.-36 mo.) classes. These half-hour classes have the parent and child interacting and learning through guided in-water exploration.REGISTRATION BEGINS - Three weeks prior to a Term start dateNo Programming Dates: Term 1 - 9/13 Cross Country Invitational 9/27 Foothills Swimming Invitational 10/11 Columbus Day Weekend Term 2 - 12/20 & 12/27 Winter Recess Term 3 - 2/14 & 2/21/26 Mid-Winter Recess Term 4 - Five (5) week term**Level 2 enrollment age is set to 5 years old. If your child has passed Level 1 and under age 5, please contact Gary Crossman, Aquatic Supervisor at 518-761-8262 to register and override the age requirement.***Parents; We have created WAIT LIST classes for Levels 1, 2, and 3. If there are no available seats for your child's specific level, please enroll them into the wait list class. There are occasions where spots open up due to class transfers, withdrawals, and added time slots. There is No Fee for wait list enrollments, but you must add the class to the cart and fully check out to be considered added to the wait list. If an available seat opens up, you will be contacted prior to the start of the term, in the order which your registration is received.

Indoor lessons are conducted at the Queensbury Elementary School pool from September to April and summer outdoor swim lessons are held at Gurney Lane Recreation Area late June to mid-August. Youth (ages 3-16) swim lessons are taught the American Red Cross – Learn to Swim Levels 1-6 progressions and are taught by department-trained swim lesson instructors and swim aides, overseen by a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. Class swim lesson participant to instructor ratios meet or exceed American Red Cross recommendations and are overseen by an on-site lifeguard.
